This Easter vacation we went to Budapest, Hungary. When we arrived there we took a taxi to our five-star hotel, the Grand Corinthia. In that hotel there was everything--a t.v. with English channels, free wireless internet (we brought our laptop). It was cool. I would have been happy to stay the whole trip in the hotel! We managed to go out and visit some historic sites. I remember one night we went on a romantic boat cruise on the Danube, which divides Buda from Pest.
And then, another favorite thing we went to was the famous thermal spas of Budapest. In the spa center there was an outdoor pool with water from an underground spring, and then inside there were lots of pools from 20-60 degrees fahrenheit, and even some saunas that my Dad really liked.
One of the negative things was the language. The Hungarian language that they spoke was impossible to understand! It doesn't derive from Latin, so Italian didn't help me. If they didn't speak English, we couldn't communicate in any way. This was hard for us at the beginning, even though my mom had a phrase book.
